Early Language

(under 3 years of age)

Learn simple, effective strategies to help your child communicate - no pressure, no complicated instruction, just simple play-based connections with a program designed specifically for you and your toddler.


We see toddlers who:

  • Are not talking or using only a few words.
  • Have little or no interest to engage or interact.
  • Are not combining words yet or just starting.

Language Development

(3-5 years of age)

Every child develops at their own pace - but some need extra support, right when it matters most.

We help children ages 3-5 strengthen their expressive language and understanding.


We see preschoolers/kinders who are:

  • Difficult to understand.
  • Using limited vocabulary.
  • Using short sentences or incomplete grammar for their age.


Speech Sounds

(2.5-5 years of age)

Help your child speak clearly and be understood.

Some children:

  • Leave sounds out of words.
  • Substitute sounds (e.g. "tat" for "cat").
  • Are difficult for others to understand.

We help children ages 2.5-5 learn how to produce speech sounds accurately through play-based therapy tailored to their needs and appropriate for their age.


Parents are part of the process - you'll learn simple, effective strategies to practice between sessions without pressure.


Why come to Expressive Edge? Jackie is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and is a member in good standing with the College of Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario. She has 35 years of experience as an SLP and truly cares about the children and families she serves.

She has spent most of her career in the public system and has started a part time private practice in order to bring her high level of experience with and knowledge of both the system and community resources to families that may not access public services.
